Creating this blog was a new experience. I have created websites before for my daughters Girl Scout troop. It was an easy way to keep parents up to date on what activities were coming up and what badges or goals the girls were working on. I didn’t encounter any issues creating the blog. My only problem was finding a picture to add to the profile. I tend to be the photographer, not the subject for the photos.
One benefit of creating this blog is the experience. I have never had the opportunity to put my thoughts out in a general forum where others could leave comments, criticism, or compliments as they see fit. It will benefit me in my future career by allowing me to practice my blogging skills. Many other teachers are already using web pages, blogs and other electronic means to keep in contact with parents, post assignments, and also online discussion groups for students to connect with each other.
